July 1901 Jack Price walks to Halesowen to find work

Halesowen operates as a branch of Birchfield Harriers
1926-40 Club operates from the Bethel Mission
1940 Club moves to the County Technical School
October 3rd 1942 Resignation from Birchfield and the Club becomes independent
1943 Cycle section formed and plans made to purchase land
1945 Eleven acres purchased from lord Cobham
Purchase money loaned, interest free, by R Smith, C Smith, S Smith and C Goode
A & J Mucklow provide equipment and labour to level the site and straighten the stream
Birmingham Corporation agree to dump 100,000 tonnes of industrial clinker to build up the site
April 1946 Grass sown to form the track
May 1948 To accommodate the cycle track an extra parcel of land purchased on the Abbey side of the grounds, financed by Tommy Shaylor (local farmer), Norman Richards and W Hackett
At this time Halesowen Cricket Club also play matches here
New changing rooms built
1995 Application to National Lottery Fund for all weather track. Austin Hey, Alan & Joanne Smallwood and Tony Field. £125,000(Lottery £75,00, Sports Foundation £42,250)
1997 Track completed
1998 Gym extension to Smithy and a pitched roof
£150,000 with a £115,750 grant
2006 New pole vault bed & cover
2007 New throwing cage
2008 New high jump bed & cover
2012 Club receives Queen’s Voluntary Service Award
2021 Hammer cage improved to full World Athletics Standard
