On Sunday January 2nd 2022, the club will be launching its centenary year celebrations.

A number of special events have been planned throughout the year, culminating in the centenary Boxing Day run.

We will be starting the year’s celebrations by gathering at the blue plaque dedicated to Jack Price, the founder of our club, on Hagley Street in Halesowen Town Centre.

The plan for the morning is as follows

9.45 am – 10.05 am: Assemble at the club.
10.10 am: Depart club on foot, wearing club kit if possible, to run, jog or walk to the Jack Price “Blue Plaque” situated on Hagley Street in the centre of Halesowen.
10.30 am: Gather around the plaque for a few words from athletics section chair Steven Millington to recognise the part Jack Price played in forming the club in 1922.
10.40 am: Disperse from Hagley Street for everyone to go for a Sunday walk or run in various groups.
From 11.30 am: Return to the club for shower/changing etc.
From 12.15 pm: Post-run Brunch and drinks available in the bar.

All club members are welcome for some or all of the morning’s celebrations, although it would be good to get as many people as possible in Hagley Street so we can mark the start of the centenary year with a club photo.

This is the first of a number of events planned over the course of the following 12 months with full details of what’s planned to follow in the next few weeks!
