The Robert Ashwood Memorial Fund provides an opportunity for funding for young middle and long distance athletes living in the Midlands.
Robert (Bob) Ashwood was a well-respected and well known coach who supported and developed numerous British Junior and Under 23 athletes.
Bob’s coaching skills extended to many other sports including football and triathlon but athletics was his first love.
As part of the Great Britain athletics coaching team, Bob played a key role in supporting athletes including Paula Radcliffe, Mo Farah, Liz Yelling and John Brown.
Applications are welcome from athletes aged between 18 and 23 competing in events between 800 metres and the marathon.
