Birmingham District Cross Country League Race 1

Telford – Lilleshall

Having dropped into League for the first time since the 2004/5 season expectations were high, certainly from my point of view. This season I would not be racing in the bottom 10%. Telford, or to be more exact Lilleshall National Centre for sports excellence, was a new venue for the team. Not sure Div 2 was befitting of such a venue. It was a four lapper on grazed fields with one hill per lap, mud levels very acceptable. The tussock grass was not for the weak ankled or those who are just clumsy, ask Dr Dave! We had a super turnout of 26 runners. Yes the team photo only has 25, a result of Paul A getting caught up in the Merry Hill traffic and arriving at the start line 6 minutes late. Unfortunately for Paul the final results will never account for this delay and will forever show him with a finish time of 50.07. Luckily for Steve M. Well done to Matt S for leading the team home in 15th. HACC runner of the day goes to Roger M. Team finished a commendable 3rd equal.
