So who’s Boston boy you ask yourself?
Real name Martin Mclauchlan Boston Boy is just a name that I’ve adopted over the years that a few friends call me but we’ll save that for another time. I Started running in 2010 ran a mile nearly died – well I felt that I nearly did so decided from that point I’ve got to get better at this why I don’t know but I just had to get better.
Started to run a bit more went from I’m not dead yet to ok it just hurts a bit so lets sign up to a half marathon how hard can it be?
HARD
So roll on my first half the Great North Run 2010 got to say if its the electricity of the crowd you are looking for and the the support of your fellow human mankind then this ticks all the boxes. Lining up on a motorway in Newcastle with 55,000 other runners is truly amazing, that and the red arrows flying over head. I ran, it hurt, but my god did I feel like a million dollars at the end HELL YES!!! I’ve done it 7 times since that first half. There’s a guy every year at mile 11 who offers everyone some Newcastle brown Ale – Thats what I call support. I’ve been tempted but as a runner I always run by but do thank him for the offer.
So what next I though?? well you lived and survived a half how hard can a full marathon be?

& renewed my wedding vows at mile 3 with my wife at Las Vegas Rock n Roll Half Marathon.
