The athletics section of Halesowen A & CC would like to invite all past members of the club to a reunion event they’re holding on Sunday 11th November at our fantastic club on Manor Way, Halesowen.
A lot of our current members bump into old members all the time and say they will have to meet for a pint, come down and try running or have ago at the track and field again (vets track and field league aged 35 plus).
So here is the excuse to come back down to your beloved Halesowen Athletics Club and relive some of your golden years with fellow members and old friends that you haven’t seen for a while. It’ll be a great chance to talk PBs and injuries with the likes of Paul Allen, Roger Mallard and the Nock brothers.
The plan is to meet at the club at 11.30am and go for a 3-mile run from the club at 11.45am, We’ll be catering for those who fancy a sprint, jog or walk, alternatively, you can just stay at the club and chat to the real old timers such as Keith Perry, Les Woods or Steve Millington until we get back.
After a quick shower it’ll be into the club to sample some of the finest ales in the country and enjoy an afternoon/evening of catching up on old times.
It would be great to see anybody who used to coach or volunteer at the club. Please come along, even if you have no interest in joining, it’ll be nice just to say hello.
We realise some people may have left the area so it’s a great excuse to come and visit Halesowen and catch up with old friends.
I’m sure Barry Thompson, Mick Mielczarek, Dave Lloyd, Tony Field and the Smallwoods would all be delighted to buy a drink for all their old athletes, and if we’re lucky we might even get Lynn & Julie Bellfield along fresh from the Masters World Champs in Malaga.
Look forward to seeing as many of you that can make it on the 11th November.
Halesown AC Committee.
