A rare sunny evening provided the backdrop to one of the most popular events on the summer calendar, the Stafford Showground Relays.
Clubs from across the Midlands assembled teams made up of four runners competing over two mile legs and Halesowen had a healthy representation of seven teams.
While there were many returnees from last year’s event, there were a whole new batch of team names to conjure with.
Although the disappointment was palpable when Adrian Dale’s failed to win any recognition for his creative Couch to 3.218688k team moniker.
Fortunately there was athletic endeavour to celebrate as Exer-size Matters won the Mixed Open race and Young, Dumb and Ready to Run were second in the Boys event.
