Another Worcestershire Midweek Series was successfully completed last Wednesday (12th August)
The venues were the same as previous years, and all were expertly organised by a team of volunteers from Droitwich AC, Bromsgrove and Redditch RC and Halesowen Athletics Club as well as the staff at each of the venues, StuWeb Race Entries and St Johns Ambulance.
Lastly thanks to the series sponsors, Worcestershire Athletic Association, Prestwood Petzone and Up & Running.
Whilst the numbers were down from previous years, I would like to hope that those who did partake in one or more of the races enjoyed the experience.
We were challenged this year with extremely hot weather, venue availability and the eclipse, which made it very hard for people to get up to the Clent venue. Fortunately, there will not be another eclipse for many years!
At this time there is a commitment to hold this series next year and we shall be aiming to hold them on the following dates:
Wednesday 19th May: HAGLEY 10k
Wednesday 9th June: REDDITCH 12k
Wednesday 14th July: DROITWICH 10k
Wednesday 11th August: CLENT 8k
Please note, these dates are currently very much provisional and will be confirmed in spring next year.
