Excellent Run by Halesowen Junior Lily Higgins
Halesowen Ladies took on the formidable cross-country Course at the Welcombe Hills
Country Park Stratford Upon Avon. The Ladies race consisted of a 2 laps course of 4 miles, whilst the men ran 3 laps 6 miles.
First home and 3rd overall was Junior Athlete Lilly Higgins in her first year in the Senior race.
Following her home were Masters Athletes Sally Spencer 37th, Melanie Hepke (Pictured) 38th, Becky Adams 60th, Simone Jones 72nd, Sarah Thompson 74th, Caroline Lambert 94th, Eilish James 101st, Stephanie Adams 118th, 130th Anna Cosimetti, and not to be outdone mum of Lilly, Emma Higgins 132nd, with Helen Attwood finishing 144th.
The ladies team finished 6th with the Masters in 7th of the 23 teams that make up div 2
In the Men’s race Halesowen fished in 4th place in a closely contested League.
Leading Halesowen home in 11th place was Mateusz Slivinski, with Roger Mallard in 24th, in 31st place was Junior runner Kristian Bayley, Mark Turner 34th, Adam cross 42nd, Tom Kenderdine 44th, Dave Turvey 51st. Team captain Peter Dear finished 65th, Joe Donkin 76th, Russell Cadwallader 86th, Dave Lewis 94th, Phil Scarr 109th, Matt Allen 138th, James Hoult 168th, Alex Morgan 177th, Bill Nock 186th.
Andy Nock is the Birmingham and District League record holder for the most number of appearances nearing 150 he finished in 194th, Richard Guest 215th, John Hill 217th, Andy Curruthers 224th, Paul Allen 258th and completing the Halesowen pack was Ali Grant 268th.
Halesowen A team finished 4th the B Team 4th.
Halesowen have a few weeks off before competing in the Worcester Championships on 6th January.
