All of the opportunities to athletes young and old, from training through to competitive and social events, and having the relevant kit, are provided by volunteers, at HACC.
We are looking for new people to get involved to maintain and develop what is on offer, and to give those who currently invest a huge amount of their time and effort a chance to step back.
We welcome all offers or help, and in particular, we are currently looking for the role roles / tasks to be taken up
- Gate Marshalls Evening Training Sessions
- As there will be both cyclists and athletes using the track from April onwards, we need parents to monitor the track crossing between 7 and 8, whilst core training sessions are on. It provides you with a close up view of training. It will also entitle you to a free coffee and cake voucher for the coffee hut.
- YDL Upper Team Manager
- For our U17 and U20 athletes, we need to co-ordinate their entries to the summer fixtures, ahead of and at the events. This can be a shared role.
- Qualified Officials
- Across all age groups, events need qualified officials to go ahead to ensure a safe and fair environment. There are minimum requirements of knowledge and training, and as club participating in leagues, we are obliged to provide a number of qualified officials and volunteers. You can find out more information here. https://www.englandathletics.org/coaches-and-officials/officials-development/track-and-field/
- Club 3000m / 5000m Annual event
- Each autumn, we hold an endurance event with 3000m and 5000m races on our track. We are looking for an event co-ordinator to arrange these races this year.
- New Member Co-ordinators
- Working with the Membership team and coaches, we are looking for people to help introduce people to the club across ages and sessions
- Facilities Team
- Building on the success of the grandstand seating, we are looking to enhance our facilities and working part volunteers and expertise are always appreciated
- Club Committee Roles
- Section and main management committees are typically set at the AGM in the autumn.
For any further information on how to get involved, please speak to a coach or committee member, or leave details with Leon, who will be able to pass them on. Thanks Matt
