Ian Priest reports from Sutton Park:
At the National Road Relays we had no Senior Men or Senior Women’s entrants, so Halesowen’s bright young stars took to the stage to ensure the club were represented at a national level event.
Previously run by running icons, Mo Farah and Paula Ratcliffe, our athletes took on the three stage event over gruelling 3.88k legs.
There was consistent running by everyone with a great all round team performance.
I am very proud of the two new Under 13 Girls Halesowen debutants, Amelia and Abbe (pictured above).
To attend your first competitive fixture for Halesowen and this being a national event ππππ

The other two runners were both debutants lining up in their first competitive race for Halesowen.

All three runners were within a few seconds of each other. A fantastic all-round great team effort.

Consistency was a major key and places were gained throughout the race with the congested field of athletes.
What a fantastic team performance coming in the top 20 in the country with a team with two bottom age competitors.
Totally commendable, a superb competitive team race and a great effort!
A very enjoyable Saturday morning. Well done all!
